Back to the 80*s

Today is my favorite day of the week. It’s Friday. Time to party. I’m looking forward to a dance party. I have been so tied up last couple of weeks, that i have not found the time to do one of the things i love most, Dancing. This weekend I’m having a dance party, No way around it. Dancing is my exercise regimen. A very good all body workout to. Speaking of, Three years ago i lost 70 pounds. I did this by dancing, hitting the gym and getting serious about my health. After losing the weight i had to figure out how i would keep it off. Staying in the gym was not an option, as my schedule always interfered or sticking to a strict diet, not my style. Then, i thought, i have all the tools i need right at my finger tips. I’ve been dancing since i was a baby, literally. Once i feel out my crib when i was a baby, I was dancing along to this dancing flower. Then, boom on to the floor i went. I guess this is when i learned the true meaning of the metaphor, when you fall down get back up and try again. Lol. Growing up everytime my family and i would get together; family reunions, birthday parties, Thanksgiving and baby showers, there was always some dance off. Always, but we enjoy it. It brings us togetherness, happiness and made our lips and hearts smile. Staying active really helps you keep usage of your body. What better way to stay active, we all can move to groove. I have maintained to keep the weight off for two years. I did that. I owe it all to my love of dancing! When i started my dance parties i knew this would also help others realize you to have all the tools you need.

Preparing for class!

When preparing for my dance class/party I make sure to have a nice playlist! my music is everything, the right songs will determine a mood, and I always strive in my classes and videos to leave you refreshed and rejuvenated. I love all types of genres, styles, and artist. But House music from the 80* is my go-to for workout routines. I just love an up tempo beat, really gets the heart going.

Me teaching some parents from Jose Diego in The Humboldt Park community. This bunch was a diverse class, we had 20-60 year olds, and let me say my sixty year old was keeping up better than some thirty year olds.
I enjoy teaching and i really enjoy dancing. If you haven’t had the chance to drop in to one of my class you can check me out on my #youtube page and follow along.
