Mardi Gras Friday

Hey party people. I’ve been so busy. Only two weeks into the year and I’m booked. Not that I’m complaining, being booked means staying busy. Ironically, staying busy helps me to stay focus, and keeps the lights on. Lol

Anyway, I made some cute cupcake toppers last night while I was making gift baskets for a school party for this friday. I was inspired by left over items I’ve previously used. I was going for a New Orleans theme, and with Mardi gras around the corner, these will be right out time.

The total time took to create these were about 15 mins. I previously mentioned, I already had what I needed, either in my stock, or in my Partymom collections. If you want to re-create these items you can find similar items at your local store, or you can purchase the finished ones with us. New items arriving and stocked every day!

Items needed

  • Decorative straws
  • Decor, cutouts, or leftover materials,

I used left over garland pieces.

  • Glue gun
  • Scissors

After gathering up all your items, Time to get started.

First take two decorative party straws, and cut them in half or cut them down to your preferably size.

I cut them right in the middle cuting them in half, I didn’t use a ruler, I eye ball it and It came out perfect!

Next, I took some pieces that fell off a garland I previously used and put use to them. Don’t lose it reuse it!

Than using my glue gun I glued the decorative pieces in place. be careful when using the glue gun, it can be really hot and painful when touches the skin.

After gluing the pieces, let the items sit for about one minute giving the glue full time to dry.

All done!

Here’s the finishing look!
